Nissan Arena can confirm it has been advised by Queensland Health that a patron who attended the venue on Friday 17 December has since tested positive to COVID-19.

It has been identified that the patron participated in a casual basketball game on court 5 between the hours of 7:20pm and 10:05pm on Friday.

Queensland Health has been in contact with the individual and the small group of approximately 20 people involved in the game.

All persons on court have been listed as a close contact, while all spectators and those not on court are classified as casual contact.

Nissan Arena has been advised by QLD Health that the small number of staff and all other patrons who attended the venue on Friday evening who were not involved in the basketball game are viewed as extremely low risk.

The venue remains open and is permitted to continue to operate as normal.

Our primary concern is for the health and safety of all patrons, staff and their families.

Therefore, we encourage anyone who feels unwell to get tested and for those who visit Nissan Arena to wear a face mask and social distance where possible.
