About Us
Welcome to Nissan Arena, home to Netball Queensland and the Queensland Firebirds.
The incredible Nissan Arena, which is arguably Queensland’s no. 1 indoor arena for sport, is managed by Netball Queensland (NQ) under a management agreement with Stadiums Queensland. Nissan Arena is the home to our history-making Queensland Firebirds netball team. Netball Queensland also hosts a myriad of community sports, major events and competitions attracting over 400,000 attendees to the venue each year.
Nissan Arena has hosted hundreds of successful events since opening in 2019 and has had over 1.5 million people through the doors – to play, cheer, dance, dine and do business. The venue’s versatility caters to minor events and community use as well as major events on show court where there is a seated capacity of just over 5,000 spectators.
The Arena design accommodates multiple event offerings, with Nissan Arena being able to deliver opportunities for international, national and community sporting and entertainment events. The arena is proud of its diversification with a portfolio that exists beyond major events to pathways competitions and tournaments to other community activity.
In addition to its premier show court there is seven indoor community courts, three VIP/Conference Rooms, elite and community change rooms, and a state-of-the-art gymnasium for professional and elite athletes.
The venue is located only 12.5km from the Brisbane CBD. Located on two of Brisbane’s main arterial roads (Kessels and Mains), which permits easy access to the venue and favourably supports the venue’s transport operations.
Queensland’s largest Park ’n’ Ride is adjacent to the venue which has introduced a multistorey car park to the precinct. This car park is a huge bonus for hosting events at the venue for our spectators and our hirers. With this being a highly utilised car park during the week this introduces a new exposure platform for our event portfolio to a further 250,000 commuters a year.
The venue is also part of the larger Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre precinct which attracts an average annual patronage in excess of 250,000 per year.
Stadiums Queensland (SQ) is charged with the management of major sports facilities that are declared, under Queensland Government regulations, as being venues having the capacity to stage national or international sports events, recreational or entertainment experiences.
